    Fade dark brown to light!
Hello guys! Thursday afternoon I went to the salon, and dyed my hair. I told the chick I wanted the redish tint out of my hair, and blonde highlights.. well she dyed it very very dark brown, and the blonde highlights were a big NO NO! I went back the next day and told her she had to take them out, so she did - but my hair is still too dark.

    My problem?:
I'm trying to figure out if I am going to go back to stylist to get my hair the color I want it, or if using prell and washing it about 4-5 times a day and letting it sit will make it fade into this color.

My hair looks like the girls hair on the right, and I'm wanting it like the girls hair on the left.

About how many shades lighter is it?
And should I just keep prell-ing it, or am I going to need to go to a stylist?

*PLEASE RESPOND BACK ASAP. I HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE THURSDAY AND I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT IT TO BE THIS DARK.. THANK YOU.

Hi Arianna. This sounds like a mess. Don't wash your hair with harsh soaps unless you wear it shorter and trim it regularly. Your dark colour should fade. A pro colour will last longer, but this pro sounds unpro. Loreal colours are very red. Perhaps these browns are best for you. I once dyed my hair #3 (dark brown). In a month it was deep golden brown, almost perfectly a hint deeper than my natural hair colour. BUT box dyes are rich in amonia and crap. My hair was dead. I 've switched to Solfine pro colours. Infused in oils, they do not dry out hair--I swear! Ez to use, cheaper, oddly enough... BUT the pigments are deep!! So consult a pro before choosing your colour. In the mean time, wash, condition and be patient. In a month you should be a lighter version, but your own pigments will dictate this. Remember, a dye is a lift and a colour--as it fades, the colour will fade onto the lift... the removed natural hair colour, generally an orangey hue. This is why browns turn red easily: if you paint brown on red or orange, what do you get? If you paint, for example black on the same you get black. But My black dye has faded too, but in months. TIME, dooode, time... take good care of your hair or it will look like hell!
