Friend has stabbing pain in lower right side
A friend of mine started having stabbing pain Monday morning, and as the day continued, the pain increased until it was almost unbareable. He said it was above his hip, but below his ribs, and partially in his back. He describes the pain as "feeling as if he was being stabbed", he went to the ER, but they didn't find anything and sent him home. They did say they saw something in his x-ray around his kidney area, and that they were going to do some tests and call him. The pain gradually decreased and disappeared Tuesday morning around 3 am. I told him I would check it out. His family doesn't have a history of medical issues, except his sister died at 11 years old in 2001 of a mitral vaulve. He is a 14 year old boy. Please help! Thanks

Is it possible he had kidney stones? That pain is worse than child birth.

I agree it sounds like kidney stones and they are so painful but when you pass the stone your fine like nothing happen.

I am hoping it's not appendicits. Without an appendectomy it could be fatal.
