    Painting laminate floor
I have a laminate floor which has had some water damage in different areas, so the edges of the planks have raised. Is it possible to sand them down and paint the laminate? What products should I use?
    Thanks!

I think it would be best to replace the flooring if you sand the laminate and paint it I don't think the results will be very good or last very long. The wear layer on the laminate is only several millimeters thick (at best)cheaper laminates have only a few millimeters of wear layer. After that your into fiber board which in my experience while it paints well when smoothed I can't imagine it holding up very long to foot traffic. If I missed anything post back. GOOD LUCK, AC

Thanks for the reply. I had been hoping I could sand the affected areas, paint the entire floor and then put on a few coats of polyurethane... I can't replace the floor for a couple of years.

If your going to prime, I would use the Shellak base primer called "Zinser" quick drying and stickes to virtually anything. As well as it works like a stain and tanin blocker. The fumes are really strong, but it does dry quick.
