    Dachshund skin
Recently my dachshund developed extremely dry flaky skin and his hair began to fall out. The vet told me that he had a bad case of dander and to bath him once a week in Selsun Blue and to put him on vitamin supplements. I did this for 2 months and no change. The problems are getting worse. Has anyone else had this problem? If so please help me with this, I cannot seem to get an answer from my vet. Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like he has mange..

Two of my many dogs developed that one summer after we moved to a more rural area.

The prescription was "Revolution". To keep all kinds of bugs, no matter how TINY off the dogs. We also had to get a prescription of Vanectyl-P, which is a type of cortizone to stop the itching.

    Hope this helps...
