I live in New Jersey and I need to purchase a coms battey for my Alienware sentia 244 laptop. It seems an easy thing to do however the end user is NOT able to purchase them. System builders only! The battery is a ML-1220 Maxell lithium Manganese Dioxide Rechargeable. Can anyone help?

    Thanks Ed. Catanach

Alienware should give you 1 for the price you paid..
Plus it might still be under warranty...
    CMOS batteries rarely die...
Did you test the battery with a voltage tester... because in 20 yrs in being around computers I never heard of a cmos battery failing so soon
Give the voltage a check before buying a new 1 if you can find...
Normally they are interchangeable on desktops.. not sure about laptops...

    Good luck

In addition to TommyP's advice, you CAN order the battery online:
