Hi, I just moved into an older house and I'm having some issues with the hot water and the cold water having different water pressure. It's like this through out the house. The cold water is virtually non-exsistant and the hot water is out of control.

It's like this from the kitchen sink to the bathroom sink to unforunately the shower!

I haven't called anyone and I'm trying to see about getting this done myself first.

Jes, it can be number of things:

First, go each faucet in your house and remove aerators (screen attachment on tip of spout). Run water and see if you get noticeably better flow. Then, remove shower heads and run water through shower arm only. See how much flow you get. If lot more, than clean filters in shower heads.

Also, take pressure gauge and put it on one of your garden hose valves. Read the pressure. Report back with the reading.

I assume you have galvanized pipes. Please, confirm...

Do you have Pressure Regulator in front of your house ?
Do you have Water Conditioning System for the whole house ?

Additionally, tell us something about your hot water heater. Inspect it visually and tell us what you see (rusty, appears to be too old, etc... )
