Throughout my life my older brother Dylan (age 16) has been a great pain to me. When we were younger he would always make fun of me and tease me. I used to think it would stop if I just ignored him and eventually he would grow out of it, but no. He still constantly makes fun of me and finds way to get under my skin and now it has grown into more troubles. Instead of the usual verbal teasing I get from him I now suffer from him punching and kicking me. I no longer feel safe to be around him. It's probably worst when I go swimming. I've always loved to swim no matter what, but now a relaxing trip to the beach can turn hazardous in an amount of seconds. Dylan drags me into deep waters far from shore to shove my head under the water longer than I can hold my breath. I am now deathly afraid of drowning and I find myself scared of swimming even when he's not around. He has tried to suffocate me numerous times at home too, holding my head under pillows and sitting on me. I try to get away, but fleeing is hard to do when he's older, faster, and stronger than you. Sometimes I even start to believe it's turned into sexual assault for when he attacks me he usual touches my breats or around my chest area.

My theory is that when we were younger he wanted a younger brother and not a sister so he rough-houses and teases me like he would with another boy. But since I am a girl I respond differenlty to it and he doesn't know how to stop it

You may be wondering where my parents are in all of this. During one of these attacks my mother (for she is usually the only one home cause my dad works a lot) will just call dylan out and tell him to stop. But these words are meaningless to him and he cointinues hurting me. My father will do the same, but when he is ignored he will yell at ME for not walking away. But how can I walk away when I have a heavy adolescent sitting on me. I am not saying that I'm not at fault too though. I'll admit that sometimes I may provoke his behaviour when I'm not in a tolerable mood. But most of these fights start on his actions

So help! What am I supposed to do? He's my brother, its not like I can get a restraining order on him! I've asked many other people for this same advice, but I've found no solution yet. Please help me

Well, actually you could get a restraining order -

Have you talked to a professional - someone at school, a Doctor - about this. No matter how much you provoke him he should not be putting his hands on you - sexually or any other way.

Do you have a trusted relative? I was very fortunate to have an Aunt I could talk ANYTHING over with and I hope I am that same person for my niece.
