    Am I a citizen - I want a passport
I was born in germany in 1954, my family immigated to Minnesota in 1956. I have a green card, I married a citizen in 1973. I want to get a passport. Am I good to go, or will there be trouble, if I apply for a passport? I still live in Minnesota

How old were you when your family migrated to US?
Did you parents later on become naturalized?
If yes, how old were you then?
For accuracy, provide as much info as possible.

I was 23 months old when immigrated. Both parents were naturalized soon after immigrating. I don't know exactly, they are both gone now, so I can't ask them anymore

If your parents become naturalized (be US citizen) before you reached the age of 16, you are a US citizen. What you have to do is file form N-600 to obtain proof of citizenship. When you have this certificate, you can apply for US passport.

Read instructions and download the form here: Application for Certificate of Citizenship

Now on the other hand, if they did not become naturalized or not before you were 16, just getting married to a US citizen does not make you one.

If you tell us these details it can help
