    Chevrolet Volt charging
I was reading in the paper this morning about the electric car "Volt". They said that using regular house current you could recharge over night and faster with 220.

I don't know what the voltage on a car like that is but is there a way to figure approximately how much it would cost to do a recharge? Any ideas? Best guess appreciated! :)

    Hello syl:

I don't know if they were lying... But, if I recall correctly, they said that the Volt could be completely charged up from nothing, for $.85 worth of electricity...

That don't sound bad... However, I hear they're charging $4,000 per cup holder... (Ok, I'm joshing about that).

Thanks for the speedy reply. If that was the case, it sounds like it would be a pretty good deal.. especially if someone had to drive within the 40 miles (house charge) each day. The cost of the car was around 40K which is what we paid for our Odyssey Touring.. We love it but do not need that big a vehicle now. Maybe in a few years the prices will come down and more improvements will be made. :)
