    Whirlpool drain
    Hello all,

I have been in my house for a year now. I have a whirlpool tub that drains very very slowly. It has been that way ever since I have been in this house. The other plumbing in the house is great. I haven't had any problems. The other tub in drains fast... normal. Can anyone help me with this problem? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

To clear the drain you must pull the chrome overflow plate and send a snake down the open hole. About 18 inches down you'll run into the traps return bend. Crank and push your way around it. Once around the trap put out about 8 foot more. Have plenty of old rags when you pull the snake back, it will be all black and greasy. Flush the drain out with a few large pans of boiling water. Good luck, Tom

When I open the chrome plate can I pour draino or bleach in there and then rinse it with boiling hot water?

No, removing the chrome plate will give you the opening you'll need to snake out the drain line. I am no fan of putting harsh chemicals in your drainage system. They only seem to work in TV commercials. However, if you're going to use chemicals pour them down the drain, let it set overnight and next morning flush it out with a few large pans of boiling water. Good luck, Tom
