Ask your doctor. If you are diabetic your doctor can tell you what time and how to take care of your health.

Let's fine tune this a bit:
Type I (Body makes no insulin)
    Insulin dependent

    Pre-diabetic

    Type II
    Insulin sensitive or resistant
    Insulin dependent

Use any or all of the above terms under type II.

Simple answer, Type II can be controlled by oral medication and diet. May require insulin.

    Type I
Cannot be controlled by oral medication. Always requires Insulin.

So, you can be an Insulin dependent, insulin resistant type II, diabetic.

This would mean you require some insulin and might use oral medication and your body does not use insulin effectively or makes too little.

Insulin sensitive means that it's easy for you to get low blood sugar.
