    Using "Mrs." After Divorce
When is it appropriate to use "Mrs." after you are divorced? Don't you lose your "Mrs." status?

    Hi, kamonteith!

Yes, after a woman is divorced she loses her "Mrs." status as far as a title. Generally, what I have seen women use for a title is "Ms." after the divorce instead.

Discussion and advice in the use of titles for both men and women is addressed on many sites on the Internet. There is even considerable debate concerning the titles. It can get pretty interesting!

I use Ms, and I reverted to my maiden name - my own name. It's all part of taking back control of your own life after a divorce.
