    Understanding probation
    My son went to jail on violation of probation. I would like to find out more about it. I would like to know what gag 1 and 2 are, and more to understand what is going on.

    He was out on probation instead of going to jail. In exchange for staying out of jail he had to meet certain conditions which (apparently) he did not meet. He now has been sentenced to the prison term.

    I have no idea what gag 1 and 2 are - what State?

    Are you talking about a gag order - an order which prevents the media from releasing names or cicumstances? Or a gag order against your son for some sort of Courtroom outburst?
