    Split Domestic water Heat pump
I have an attic that is sealed with foam insulation (attic is part of my envelope). I want to heat the domestic water in the basement with the heat from the attic using a split heat pump. E-tech use to make one, but I have just been informed that they no longer do. Does anyone know where I can get a split unit heat pump to heat my domestic water in the basement with the heat from my attic?

Not a good idea since the volume of heat available in the attic will be used up very quickly. Also it is possible the heat pump will also go into a defrost mode. This is definitely not good in a attic situation.
