    Multimedia audio controller but with code ten
    I have had the problem of no sound for agessss
    Its rely annoying
    I have downloaded the cmedia ac97 audio device but it says it cannot start as it has problem code ten.
    I also tried the computers own driver and this does exactly the same
    I am starting to get frustrated and need help

    What PC (HP, Dell, etc) what Model? What OS? (XP (SP1,SP2? ), vista?)

    1) look in the add remove programs.. see if there is a c-media entry.. etc. unistall anything for it.

    Right click My COmputer > Properties > Hardware Tab
    Device manager. Select the component, right click and remove it.

    Go here: Download Software, Drivers and Utilities Filters

    Download the newest driver.

    Reboot

    Install

    See if that helps.

    I take it I'm downloading the audio thing with it

    Yes, if it still doesn't work.. download and run this:

    Download Everest Home Edition 2.20 - Everest Home Edition - a freeware system information, system diagnostics and benchmarking solution - Softpedia

    Double check that the multimedia device is in fact the cmedia AC97. If not, then Google for drivers for the dive it lists.
