    Nausea when taking pills
I never used to have trouble taking medication, but lately (about the past year) I get extremely nauseas when trying to take my pills. I thought it was that they were too large, but it seems as if the size doesn't matter. My neurologist suggested that it seems as if it's psychological, and she may be right, but that doesn't make it easier. Most of them are not crushable, so that can't be helped. As a result, I just don't take any of my medications other than my weekly injection. (I have MS and take Avonex injections once a week... a lot easier for me than swallowing a pill!) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks... Gail

Would you mind telling me the names of the pills that make you nauseous? There may be a way around this, but I would have to know what they are so I can look them up in my PDR.

I must have misstated my problem. The difficulty is not that the pills are making me nauseas, it's that I never get to take them because the thought of taking them is what makes me nauseas. That's why the neurologist feels that it's pyschological, and that may well be the truth, but it doesn't solve the problem.
They are mostly vitamins and minerals... The one that is not a vitamin or mineral is
Welbutrin (450mg), but the rest are: Vitamin B complex, omega fish oils 3 and 6, Acetyl-L-Carnitine Alpha Lipoic Acid, Trigosamine, Caltrate with Vitamin D, vitamin D itself. As you see, they're mostly vitamins and minerals, but it doesn't matter... I don't get them down since I can't stand the nauseas feeling that I have before I even swallow one pill.
Thank you for your efforts to help me with this. I guess I just have to learn to be a big girl and take the pills no matter how nauseas I feel, but I do appreciate your efforts. Thanks!

Sure u do.. u have answered yourself!
Try not to be conscious while having it, try to make it a daily routine without thinking about it at all. Think of it like its going to benefit your system and its for the good of your body.. ur helping your own body.
