    Have I put a switch and light in properly
    Hi I had to install a light fitting and switch we only had 2 cables the 1st had 2 wires went to another light fitting, the 2nd had 3 wires which went right across the house to the circuit board I guess, so I put the 1st cable into the light fitting then the second to the light switch then I brought a 3rd cable which I put in to the switch then through to the light fitting I hope I have done it correct I have added a diagram

    No diagram. Please try again. Punctuation also helps :-)

    It would be unusual for a wire between lights and a panel to have three wires. I suggest you buy a cheap circuit tester that will tell you which wires are live - it will make it way easier to help you if we know that.
