Are there any secrets for my carpet
Are there any secrets on how to get my carpet smelling good without shampooing it? Other than that awful carpet powder stuff, it messes with my allergies. And my dog hates it too...
My carpet has a slight smell of dog piddle.

Try Fabreeze - it's not a powder, but a liquid mist.

Check out this link CM:
Urine Gone - Urine B Gone - Urine Be Gone As Seen On TV
They say, "Urine Gone is the quick and easy answer to the problem. Just spray it on and let it dry, fast acting enzyme action attacks urine and other odor causing matter and eliminates their stains and odors".
Check out the site.. they even have a black-light for finding the hidden, older piddle spots!
If you use it.. let me know what you think.. will you?
Thanks... MARK

OK I have a solution for you but you and all pets, kids, etc... must be out of the house for several hours. Leaving bubby behind is optional. Rent a Ozone generator from a rental shop. Get a large unit designed to shock treat a home your size. The ozone will kill every living oganism in afew hours and then change back into oxygen.

I'm confused. "Leaving bubby home is optional." Who's bubby?
You said to get a large unit to treat a home my size. I never mentioned the size of my home. It's a one bedroom apartment.
There are no living organisms to kill, I'm talking about pee smell...
I'm confused about what your post is really about.

Pee smelll is bacteria, a living organism that causes the smell. Most home odors are casused by bacteria and ozone kill them. In high doses it is dangerous to higher level animals like you and your dog.

Cherish, if your dog is peeing on the floor, then the pee is getting under the carpet into the padding where the moisture is a buffet for bacteria. There are living organisms in every household. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.

"I never mentioned the size of my home" I know, that part is up to you to tell the rental person. Tell them the square footage of your place and they will select the correct sized unit. Since this is an apartment I should withdraw my suggestion since I have no way of knowing if any ozone could get to neighboring apartments. Try Natures Miracle, does a pretty fair job. Okay. I didn't really think of that. How much does this machine cost to rent, and where would I rent one. J_9, I think it's funny that you remembered my name. Kind of creepy to see someone use it cause I hardly ever use it here.

I have a memory like a steel trap. Once it gets in there, it never leaves. Guess that's how I got through nursing school without having to study much.

Your name is on your home page and at the last line of each of your posts, so not too creepy or mysterious
