I have recently purchased a Southwind V Model 110 690, a 52" ceiling fan. The instillation went well. The directions were good, but when I tried the light, nothing happened.

I have taken the light fixture and know that that section does conduct, so either the switch or the power is not correct.

Has anyone else had this problem and how can I rectify other than taking it down and returning it to Rona.

Is it a remote controlled fan? How is it wired at the ceiling?

Yes the fan is a remote control, but I did not use that feature. The fan works on its two speeds. We have enjoyed the breeze it creates for the last two nights.

My problem is the single light. It will not switch on.

I see this thread is 2 years old, but maybe it can help the next person. I had the same problem. I turns out that under the bottom housing, where the last blue and white wires are clipped together just above the light, I did not have them connected the right way. There are 2 small slits the connectors have to go into for each wire. Once I put them back together aligned in the right way, the light worked.

I am having a similar problem. I have connected all the wiring as the instructions state, the fan has power and can turn on. When using the remote I can turn on the fan when hitting the 'low' and 'med' button, but not the 'high' button. And the strangest part is that the light will not come on no matter what I do. I've tried 3 different light bulbs now and none of them work. I have tested the socket for power with my two prong tester, and the LED light comes on showing that there is power to the socket, but when I screw in the bulb nothing happens.

I think it may be some kind of remote control problem perhaps? Maybe the light is set to the lowest dimmer setting and the dimmer button isn't working on the remote to turn up the brightness?

I noticed that I had skipped the step in the instructions about setting the fan to the highest speed and light on before using the remote. Is there any way to reset the receiver and start from scratch for the set up of the remote control?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That skipped step is probably your issue. Remove the receiver, set the light and fan to high/on, then replace the receiver.

Also try holding down the light button.

I have purchased a Southwind V Model 110 690, a 52" ceiling fan and have attempted to assemble without any success. I have double and triple-checked the wiring to and from the receiver and the 120V supply. Where I have some doubts/questions is how to connect the ground conductor to the green ground leads of the fan (both the mounting bracket and downrod). I have connected both of the latter to the bare wire using the small nut. However, there were three big nuts provided. Perhaps I should have used those instead? Any advice or feedback is much appreciated.

Yes, however you connect the ground wires is fine.
