    Have hyperthyroidism, how do I stop gaining lbs. frm it
    I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the end of December and my doc. Said I would gain weight on the meds. But I'm gaining too much frm it and I don't know how to stop it. In a month and a half I gained 7 lbs. and in 12 days I gained another 4 lbs. I need help I don't know what to do.

    Go back to your doctor and explain the weight gain and that you are worried about it. Maybe he can suggest a consultation with a dietician - if he does not suggest it, ask for one. Perhaps he needs to review the medication. But please see your doctor again. And good luck to you.

    I've been diagnosed too with Hyperthyroidism last year and I've been under medication for a couple of months and been okay and suddenly stops my medication for about 6 months now because I feel so stress and irratable.. is it beacause of the side effects of PTU to my body?now I'm starting to feel shaken again even if I am not tired... or mostly when I am.I always feels so exhausted and my hearts beats fast and started to lose weight again.I cannot sleep too and feels like I'm always frustrated?does anybody here who is in the same condition that can suggest any other alternative medication?Please kindly help me.. thankz
