Why is my well water pressure poor?
I have a well that is gravity fed, it's about 30' higher than the camp and it flows directly into the camp. However, it is about 200+ yards from camp and dips under some railroad tracks before entering the camp. The pressure is very poor, it trickles out of the shower and when you use the toilet, it takes a long time to fill up the tank! Is this normal from the description I provided or should I have more water pressure?

If there is a problem, how could I fix it? Thanks

Sounds like you are simply piping in water from a spring or some other source which is about 30 feet higher in elevation than your camp and about two hundred feet away. The thirty foot drop will give you about twelve pounds of pressure which isn't much. You might want to consider a booster pump with attached pressure tank, assuming you have electricity.

Jlisenble nailed it! You start with 13.02 PSI at the source and have 200 feet of friction line loss on top of that. No wonder you're complaining.
Install a check valve upstream from a booster pump and a bladder tank and your pressure concerns will go away. Good luck, Tom

Look into a grundfos on demand pump. Very quiet, no need for a pressure tank (tank and check valve are built into pump. Little pricy but well worth it.
