Friend may be cutting herself
My friend is 18 and is incredibly overly dramatic, everything to her is the end of the world. Right now she's in college, in a rocky relationship, and so forth.
Recently, her girlfriend of 7 months of her had a short breakup of 4 days. And in that time she was crying constantly to my other friend. My other friend was in a fit when they got back together and accidentally let it slip over msn "I had to keep her from cutting herself again!"
If she really is cutting herself, I want her to get help. I've honestly thought she needed help before I found this out. But I'm not supposed to know about this, and my other friend made me swear not to mention it. Plus, my suicidal(?) friend does not take advice/help well. If I told her to go talk to someone she'd laugh it off.
I really don't know what to do.

Even though she's 18, do you know how to contact her parents, an aunt, uncle, or other relatives? If you do, I would talk to one of these people, and tell them that you are concerned for her. Tell them you don't want to lose her as a friend, so you wouldn't want them to mention how they found out. I'm sure someone older can figure out how to do that, while giving her the help she needs at the same time.
Have you ever said anything to her about it at all? It could be innocently enough brought up, if you noticed any scars or scabs, and then you could at least try and talk to her about it, without breaking your other friends confidence. You could also just bring up the subject of cutting around you and your other friends... just kind of out of the blue, and ask if 'either' of them have ever thought about doing it. It just might help start a conversation between you, and then she might share with you that she has been doing it herself. That would be a start anyway.
High five to you for trying to be a good friend.

Talk to her, cutting is an addiction... I've been there and done that. :P First confrunt her... talk to her, let her spill her guts. Then tell someone... tell her to get help. Just be there for her.

Hello. I'm in 8th grade and about a half year ago I realized my friend had cut herself. She promised that was the only time and that she wasn't going to do it again. But at school the other day I realized that she had cut marks on her arm again. I asked her why and she said to get rid of the pain....
