I was notified frantically by my business partner to go look in the storage room. I frantically ran to the room and discovered one of my employees sleeping in two chairs like a bed. I literally woke him up. His eyes were red. I said, "Wow, what you doing here?" Are you crying? He said he needed to lay down and requested another team member wake them up. They also said it was there intentions to go to their car, but did not. I was simply "shocked". I looked around in the storage and simply said that I needed to use the bathroom to observe what I am seeing here. Upon returning from the bathroom, he was no longer there and had returned to his desk. I do not know if this has every happened before. He then later left early due to a doctor's appt 2 hours later.

In your opinion should this be an automatic discharge or disciplinary procedure given what has occurred?

A meeting will go forward on next business day and will clearly inform team member "absolutely" should know sleeping be done on the property of company. If someone wishes to take a nap and/or are sick, "go home".

I am a workaholic and this disturbs me "greatly".
Your guidance and direction would really help me a lot.

Depends completely was he ill ( OK he should have just went home) but is he salary where he would have been paid if he went home or not?

I believe in knowing why something happens and getting into the reasons before I jump the gun with any black and white answer

Yes, the person is salary. As stated they left 2 hours later for an appointment previously scheduled over a month ago. Considering the person was literally set up from co-worker. The co-worker went to lunch with the person. The person who went to lunch with this person told another co-worker, who then told her boss. It was her boss who told me to frantically go to the storage room. I had no clue as to what was going on and was not prepared to see someone sleeping. The person found sleeping did go to lunch and I was told he wanted another 20-30 minutes to take a "nap".
