    Wedding gift
We will be attending my niece's marriage in a (secret) courthouse ceremony now, and she will have a formal wedding next year. Is it appropriate to give a gift now, or wait until "the big day"?

Well, I don't think you give in a gift in exchange for an evening of entertainment (at a reception) so I would send the gift now, a gift in celebration of and congratulations on the marriage.

And I'd be so delighted to be invited to an otherwise secret wedding - !

My daughter was married a few days ago. My cousin who is very close to her attended the wedding. There was no gift from him. This is so unlike him. He is a very generous and loving person. His gift may have been lost or misplaced. How does she ask him about it without making him uncomfortable?
