Hello, no you cannot use a showerdrain for a toilet drain, the drain for the toilet has to be a minimum of 3" size , most shower drains are only 2" ,sorry but you'll have to run a drainline for the toilet.---Zeke---

This sounds like there's a bathroom already installed. Correct? Zeke was bang on that a shower drain is way too snall to accept a toilet. Tell us exactly what you have planned, (a diagram would be nice) and we will help you with the lay out. Regards, Tom

Yeah... most shower drains are 2" and some can even be 1 1/2" now, which is way to small to accept "solid waste" in suspension. 3" pipe is the minimum for a WC (Water Closet, or Toilet). The Drainage Fixture Units the toilet adds to the system (if you are adding the toilet, not replacing or moving one) may also require you to increase the size of the main line out of the bathroom.

lakeshow, so you got the bad news about the toilet but the good news is the old toilet drain can be made into a shower drain but it needs a trap.
