    Pvc glue on cpvc pipe
I accidentally used pvc cement to glue some cpvc fittings to cpvc piping. Am I looking for problems if I don't re-do these joints? Should I re-do both the cold water and hot water joints?

You could definitely run into issues with the pvc cement on the hot water cpvc pipe and could very well run into issues with the cold water cpvc pipe. When these let go it can be very ugly if you aren't home... ;)

Sorry! But I suggest you redo these joints with the proper cement/primer needed for the particular cpvc you have. Or, you could use an all purpose cement that states that it can be used on pvc and cpvc. Fittings are cheap enough and won't take too much time to repipe. Just be glad we're talking cpvc and not copper pipe with leaded solder!

    Good luck with this...

You won't have to look for them, they will find you.

What was the brand of glue and color of can? Oatey and other do make a all purpose glue that works on PVC, CPVC and ABS If it was a PVC only glue you are out of luck, the weld will not be sufficient to hold under pressure.

Question on cpvc glue. [ 5 Answers ]

I have dry fit all of the pvc and am now ready to glue it all together. I noticed that when I bought my pvc glue it is the yellow glue for cpvc pipe. Will it work OK on the pvc pipe? The can does not say anything about it. Was hoping someone could tell me here. Thanks, Rob
