    Vcr/dvd player
Looking for a new player to replace current VCR hooked to TV. Would like one with a reasonable price (senior), capable of playing and recording DVDs, playing and recording VHS, playing CDs, and perhaps recording my old VHS tapes to DVD. Any information or opinion will be appreciated. Would also like one I could just plug in the wires from my old VCR. I am not opposed to HD, but no Blu-Ray or Sony products, please.

Got a Costco near your home? I picked up a unit there for under $200 that does everything but play CDs. Sounds like your stuff isn't HD so you sure won't need HD to record them.

It was a Sony but I do not know the model #. Costco had a different brand the year before that did the same stuff, also for under $200

I've got a silly question : is it possible to play a regular cd on a dvd-player ? Are there any dangers doing this ? Is it convenient or should I rather stay on playing it on a cd-player ? I am asking this because I am thinking of buying a dvd player and I do not know if I have to keep my cd-player...
