    Pvc leak
    I replaced disposal, now the pvc trap has very small drip. Is there a way to stop drip with out replacing the trap?

    Where exactly is the drip coming from Steve? Any chance it is dripping from the nut that connects the pipe to the disposer and water is just running down from there to the trap? Check using tissue paper... if gets wet at nut (or below), tighten and then test again...

    The drip is at the connection after the trap all the disposal connections are fine. The problem is that when is was moving the trap to connect to the disposal the connection after the trap started to leak. Very slow is gets a paper towel wet but not soaking.

    OK.. I'm here.. let's see if we can resolve this.

    Is this pvc ptrap and pipe (1st pic.) or is this PVC tubular trap (2nd pic.) or tubular metal (3rd pic.) or copper trap... not pictured... get back to me.

    There is a double sink drain, pvc 3 inch into a split drain (ptrap on both) 1st is fine , 2nd drain into ptrap is where the leak is. All parts of disposal are fine. Leak is between drain and ptrap.

    Steve.. they make a two-part plastic epoxy.. sold at home depot. If you can find where it's leaking from you may be able to rough up the surface with sandpaper and then apply the plastic epoxy to fix leak.

    If this is not possible, super easy to cut out the pipe in question, prime/cement in new coupling and install pvc fittings as needed.

    Mark, thank you for your help, I was hoping to avoid epoxy but I thought that it might be the only answer. Did not want to make it harder to work on next time but your answer tells me that the choice is either epoxy or cutting. Cutting is more than I want to do at this point. Have a great weekend. Steve epoxy will get me to where I need.

    If you can post a pic. I may have a better suggestion... but I doubt it.

    For now, epoxy.. replace in future... good luck.

    You may need to remove the trap clean it good put it back togeather tightende it by hand use a plier and tighend 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn test it as Tom says no leak you Ok, if still leaks follow Marks instruction, good luck.

    Hey John...

    I think Steve has a solid pvc ptrap (non-union type).. see post #5, so probably can't take apart as easily as you suggested. I'm betting he wishes he did though!

    Is the leak where the ell of the disposal enters the trap.
