Notice to terminate month to month in Washington
Two month ago I signed a month to month rental agreement, the rental agreement stated that the landlord would do no repairs to the house or property. Is this legal? I was already living on the property and they said if I didn't sign it I would have to leave . I have 5 children and no other place to go. Last week a 30 day notice to vacate was posted on my door. I have always paid my rent. I asked them why and they said they had got financing to demolish the house and develop the property. They also stated that because of the condition of the house they could no longer insure it. They rented me the home in the condition that it was in. I read somewhere about a relocation fee for low income tenants. Can someone please help me, what can I do? I can't come up with the money to move in 30 days.

I would cointact the local or state housing authority where you live. It would be illegal to rent an unihabitable property. However, the needed repairs may not have been major enough.

A month to month lease can be terminated at any point with a month's notice. So you should have been prepared that it might happen.

I did some research about relocation assistance and you may be in luck. Check out this site:
Tenants Union of Washington State: Tenant Relocation Assistance Ordinance

According to what's posted there, you may be entitled to 90 days notice, not 30 and $2K in relocation assistance. I would print out that site and take it the housing authority to see if you do qualify.
