    No signal
Hey there! I recently bought a laptop and I have an existing desktop as well. I tried to connect my LCD monitor from the desktop onto the laptop and it worked fine. I tried to go onto my desktop later on in the evening after reconnecting the cables for the monitor and I get a no signal sign no matter what I do. Now, I tried reconnecting my video card and even trying to recconect the monitor to the existing onboard graphics unit and I still get the error. Good thing I bought this lap top but I have no idea what my desktop is doing.

    Thanks!

No signal on what? Connecting the monitor to the laptop again? The desktop? Please be very specific about what's going on, we can't see what you're doing.

Woops, its on the monitor when I connect it to the desktop as it was prior to putting it on the laptop. The desktop boots up and everything is sound, except for the No signal sign on the monitor.

    Thanks!

It is either the monitor or the video card
First, try another monitor to see if that is the issue, if still no signal with another known working monitor, it would be your video card,

If it works fine with another known working monitor, it is the original monitor that is the problem
