    Small chip in bathtub
I just put a metallic bathtub in and discovered a small chip in the white coating just beside the strainer flange. I was wondering what would be the best fix for this situation.
Should I get a different strainer with a larger flange that might cover it ?
Or is there a material I could seal it with that would work as well.
Letting it go would result in the tub rusting through wouldn't it ?

Thanks For any and all suggestions

Is this a steel tub or is it a cast iron tub? Either way it can be painted over with a polyurethane paint that will seal it, this should make it water proof.

    Hi all:

Andy... best fix for this is sold at all plumbing supply houses I have ever been to... called PORC-A-FILL and PORC-A-FIX... SEE PICTURES BELOW. This works on all metal type tubs.

If chip is deep may want to use the filler first, let dry and then apply the porc-a-fix to finish. If real superficial chip then may only need the porc-a-fix. Read and follow all directions for best results. Repairs using this stuff are almost seamless... ;)

Check out this link for more information:
