I actually do have a high level of intelligence but it's not worth it to rewrite what's already been posted.

Hello prog:
Most people don't have a grasp of the issues like you and I do. In fact, most people vote based on a visceral rather than an intellectual basis.
She doesn't have to know WHY McCain sucks. She just has to know that he does. And, she's right. Her vote counts as much as your very well informed vote does.
By the way, certainly, many Evangelical Christians don't know squat except that Sarah Palin is one of them. That's good enough for them. We don't put them down for it, either, because we're better than you.

In your own mind, I'm sure that is a true statement.
At least, if I'm going to say someone sucks, I'm able to convey, in my own thoughts and words, why I believe that person sucks.
As long as it makes you happy, to feel that you are better than me, or anyone for that matter, more power to you!
Do what makes you happy, that's my motto for the rest of my time on this planet.

She is pro - life and lives it.
She is NRA and can handle a gun
She is against corruption and look at her record in Alaska.
If she did not walk the walk, that would not be acceptable.
Of course those opposed to her only know that they do not believe as she does, and that is all that is needed to attack her personally.
Case in point below

Hello again, in:
Yeah, politics is an ugly game. However, I refuse to be painted with such a broad brush. I don't attack her because of what she believes. I attack her because, like any politician, she shades the truth.
Case in point; She did NOT sell the jet on E-Bay, and I heard her say she did. When it sold, she did NOT make a profit on it, and I heard her say she did. She DID support the bridge to nowhere before she DIDN'T, and I clearly heard her say she DIDN'T.
I suspect you'll suggest that these things aren't really very important. But, they are.
There'll be more to come. The press is vetting her like McCain should have. Maybe another reason NOT to vote for him.

It is clear that another 8 year of McCain, this country will be in serious trouble. It's a shame how our econmic suplus has gone south since Clinton left office. To all the republicans the only way you will benefit is by the tax breaks. Remember the issues, remember the war Mr. Bush put us in. Everyone is attacking obama regarding experience, I think our next president need a vision. It's a shame where foreign countries are bailing out large corporation due to a ailing econmic system that is crumpling. I personally think Obama would be welcome and open by other countries in regards to our foreign policies. McCain and Palin sounds very scary

As I recall:
Sarah never said the plane sold on EBAY, she said "I Put it on ebay" which is true...
Sarah never said she made a profit on it. We all know Murkowskis folley was sold at a loss. Not Sarahs fault Murkowskis mess was expensive to solve.

Hello again, AK:
You're right, I misspoke. She didn't say she made a profit on it - John McCain said that. Makes it kind of worse, doesn't it?

In order to see what a candidate will do, we can do two things. We can look at their records to see what they have done, and we can look at what they have said on the issues.
In Obama's case, we can't look at what he's done because he hasn't done anything. But we can look at what he has said.
On the economy:
Obama said that the best way to solve the problem of high energy costs is to inflate your tires and get your car tuned up. See it here.
McCain is in favor of drilling for oil in the USA territories to increase supplies and decrease prices, as well as creating energy independence. He also favors alternative fuels, efficiency standards for cars and a capitalistic approach to the energy markets. See it here.
Which of these makes the most sense to you?
On foreign policy:
When Russia invaded Georgia, Obama said: “I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict. Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid an escalation to full scale war. Georgia’s territorial integrity must be respected. All sides should enter into direct talks on behalf of stability in Georgia, and the United States, the United Nations Security Council, and the international community should fully support a peaceful resolution to this crisis.”
(This is just a fancy way of saying "Can't we all just get along? Can't we just be friends?")
By contrast, McCain said: "[T]he news reports indicate that Russian military forces crossed an internationally recognized border into the sovereign territory of Georgia. Russia should immediately and unconditionally cease its military operations and withdraw all forces from sovereign Georgian territory. What is most critical now is to avoid further confrontation between Russian and Georgian military forces. The consequences of Euro-Atlantic stability and security are grave. The government of Georgia has called for a ceasefire and for a resumption of direct talks on South Ossetia with international mediators. The U.S. should immediately convene an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to call on Russia to reverse course. The U.S. should immediately work with the EU and the OSCE to put diplomatic pressure on Russia to reverse this perilous course that it has chosen. I repeat, the government of Georgia has called for a ceasefire and for a resumption of direct talks on South Ossetia with international mediators. The United States should immediately convene an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council and to call on Russia to reverse course. The U.S. should immediately work with the EU and the OSCE to put diplomatic pressure on Russia to reverse this perilous course that it has chosen. We should immediately call a meeting of the North Atlantic Council to asses Georgia's security and review measures NATO can take to contribute to stabilizing this very dangerous situation. Finally, the international community needs to establish a truly independent and neutral peacekeeping force in South Ossetia."
(This basically means that the US should use it's political and economic pressure, and the European community should join in, in order to pressure the Russians to back off. If Russia refuses to do so, they will be marginalized from the rest of the world and will face economic and political consequences.)
Which of these seems to be a more competent response to you?

Well I don't think that McCain saying she sold it on Ebay makes it worse... he is not after all the one who had to sell it...
Is that kind of like Obama saying "my muslim faith"... but oops he didn't mean it?

She did sell the plane on e-bay. It was purchased for $2.7 million, and she sold it on e-bay for $2.1 million. All she wanted to do was recoup at least part of what the prior governor misspent. She wasn't looking for a profit and she didn't make one.
Frankly, I think it would be a good idea for the government to sell surpluss or outdated stuff to the public. It's a great way to recoup much of the capital expenditure, which can then be reused for new capital expenditures. Why don't they do that? If people want it, and the government doesn't need it anymore, why not sell it. That way WE don't have to foot as much of the bill as we currently do.

What did you all think?
Obama has been the more expressive of his faith, at one point quoting Micah 6:8,
whereas McCain has been more reticent, so at the outset I thought Obama would do well.

The verdict is in and it's *McCain*, according to the latest figures! Most of you know I'm still pulling for Hillary and regret that she was not part of this test but it will certainly not detract from my support for her.
