    Skinny 16 week blk lab
I have an approx 16 week blk lab mix. Her age is approx due to the fact she was abandon. I also have her sister. Both dogs look identical except when it comes to weight. Gabby looks very well proportioned but Abby looks entirely to thin. Her ribs petrude. Her hip bones stick out and her face is super thin. Now I have had labs all my life. Since they tend to have hip issues I always have watched there weight and exercise. With Abby I am super concerned. When I first got her I know that her food was left out and she ate as she pleased. For training and convenience purposes I feed my dogs about 3 1/2 cups twice daily. I expected a bit of weight loss due to this change but also figured within couple of weeks they'd be fine My dogs are also treat trained and take multi vits. Gabby looks wonderful. Abby on the other hand worries me. She keeps her food down and does not act hungry. This past week I actually added a 3rd meal just for her and cut her walks down. With that meal I have added a raw egg but she has not gained a single pound. She went from 21 pounds to 15. Any ideas? FYI--She is free of worms and my vet says just give her time. It has been long enough. I had to go out today to buy her a new collar. Her neck has even shrunk about 2 inches. My poor baby has me concerned

Take her to a Vet - it could be anything from worms on down - or up.

I have taken her to a vet. They insist she is fine. No worms. Blood work is fine. I have spent a ton of money. My only concern is I live on a military base and I am taking her to the base vet. Should I not be wasting my time there?

I'd get a second opinion, that's for sure. Maybe she's just a thin dog but is she's that thin, I'd be worried.
