    Who is really to blame
I hear people blaming the republican president for the economy but with a democratic led congress who is really to blame? The president can only do so much--- why don't people blame the congress for their spending ?

    Hello k:

Well, they're ALL responsible. Bush puts up the bills, and congress passes 'em.

The problem isn't really the spending, although that's out of hand, it's BORROWING the money that we spend. BORROWING it causes our bad economy.

The law that allows us to borrow like that was passed by Nixon, and THAT congress. Of course, congress or the president, haven't done any thing about it since then, because they couldn't spend it willy nilly like they do now.

Plus, bailing out HUGE Wall Street banks and mortgage lenders contributes greatly to the problem. Cause Bush BORROWED that money too.

Who is he BORROWING the money from?? The Chinese and the Russians. Those aren't the people you want holding your IOU's.

So help me out here, you sound like you know what you are talking about-- I always hear it is the republicans who have caused our economy it's trouble because of they are all oil men. The way I see it, the Democratic congress and clinton and before caused the trouble long ago. Why don't we point that out more often

    Hello again, kr:

It isn't the Democrats OR the Republicans. It's POLITICIANS of ALL stripes. The only presidential candidate who would have STOPPED it, was Ron Paul, and he lost.
