I have not had the surgery yet myself, however I do know someone who has. It helped them but most poeople you talk to will tell you you will never completely get rid of the back pain. As far as it helping you there are many factors about the healing process. I hate to say it but your weight is one of the biggest factors. If you are like me and overweight the bulging discs will reoccur or new ones will appear. That is how it was explained to me by my dr. There are other options than surgery but only you and your doctor can decide which is the best route to go. Always if possible get a second opinion from a doctor that is no way affiliated with the doctor you are seeing. I hope I might have helped and good luck.

I had several lumbar discs that I could have operated on years ago and chose not to. I just chose not to be operated on. I just babied my lower back and did not lift anything heavy or do things that would exascerbate my back pain. I did this for years. In time my disc problem got better. I would not recommend a surgical approach unless your doctor choses to do a discectomy. This procedure was explained to me in full and if I did want to have the surgery I would have chosen this method. Sometimes disc surgery is not the cureall that one would think. Some people can actually get worse from the surgery versus better. Also, you must remember that this can be extremely painful and your recovery can be long. You need physical therapy afterwards also to learn how to treat your "new" back. A lot of patients do not do these post surgery exercises and their abdominal muscles are not strong enough to hold their back up properly. You need to remember everyone is different and everyone will not have the same success rate either. And yes, your weight can be a critical factor in the surgery's success as well as a proper mental attitude towards healing and recovery. Some patients are not good candidates for back surgery either due to their mental attitude.

I've tried a few discs in both drives and neither of the drives can read them. It's like there's nothing in the drives. :confused:.
