We are living in Florida, during heavy rains water leaks through floor
We are living in Florida, during heavy rains water leaks through floor. Our house was built in 1950. The room with the leak was added by an unknown previous owner. About 8 years ago we dug down and added a wide pipe with styrophoam peanuts around it and that cured the problem for a while. Now we just had Tropical Storm Fay and water came in through the floors again. Towels were able to soak up the water but as a homeowner I am concerned. The room is mostly windows and the door in the middle. Under the windows there is about 2 foot of wood before the floor. There is concrete block on the outside of the house. Any suggestion on how to cure this problem for good?

Greetings from Sarasota where Fay missed us completely . No rain or wind.
This "wide pipe". Was it a drainage pipe with holes like you install in drain fields ? Where did you terminate this pipe? Did Fay leave standing water around your house foundations? Let's hear back from you. Tom
