I am in a relastionship and have been for a year but my boyfriend hardley ever rings me, we just seem to communicate by text messages, I wondered why this is. I would love for him to ring me so that we can have a proper conversation when we are not together.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you haven't already maybe you want to question him like "why is it you always text instead of call?" See what he says. Tell him you enjoy hearing his voice over the phone & that a phone call every once & awhile wouldn't hurt.

I think you should phone him and ask... then tell him it's his turn to phone next time.

It could just be that he does not enjoy talking on the phone. My partner is like that and before we lived together he would keep phone calls short (when I called him) and then carry on the conversation via text. Ask him if he prefers texting to talking and explain that you find it nice to hear his voice
