    Laws on repairs and pests
We just rented an apartment, well everything seemed fine until we were there for a week. Now we notice that there are roaches, and ants in closets and cabinets, besides for that we don't have an oven that works, I thought that in the state of pa it is a law that they provide you with a working stove and oven, and do something about the bugs in a timely manner. Maybe I'm wrong. Someone help.

Have you notified the landlord yet? You have to give the landlord something in writing informing them that there are roaches and ants in the apartment and that the oven doesn't work. Then they have a reasonable amount of time to take care of it.

If they haven't taken care of it within 5 to 10 days then you should contact them again in writing and tell them that if these things aren't taken care of in 3 days you will have no choice but to have it done yourself and deduct the cost from the rent.
