    Let Goo B Gone or WD 40 sit for 5 minutes and then rub off.
    I think WD 40 works better

    At the library where I work, we use Goo-B-Gone, available at hardware stores, Home Depot, Menard's, etc. Read the instructions for use on wood.

    You might also try a blunt plastic scraper or puttyy knife. Usually once you get an edge to start to roll you can get the label of. Rubbing with your thumb may get the stuff to ball up but I agree with WD-40. WD stands for water displacement, it was designed to be a rust preventer on missles but they screwed up, it does about 100 other things even better.
