Can I be pregnant?
Hi I'm 20 years old and I'm trying to understand something... I when off to camp this summer to work and my birth control was being giving to me everyday at the same time... when I got home I started taking it at different times and even for got to take it... my last period was on the 26 of July,before I messed up my pills... I had sex on aug 4 with out a condom and he came in me more then once... I still took my birth control but then I stop taking them that Thursday and that Friday I got my period... there waz a lot of clotting! I had it for 9 days, and the last 3 days of it it was light and it was pink and I was spotting and then it stopped.a few days later I was getting like these really bad cramps... the lasted for like a week and then they stop... now I get them every now and then... im also very tired I find myself falling asleep at work and driving... and I also noticec this like brownish discharge.also my lower back is killing me... and I have taking 2 pregancay test and they were negtive.can I be pregnant? Like I'm really scared... becuz I'm at 2 yeear away from finishing college and I don't want to mess it... can so one please help me./

It is possible, first even if you took it correct every day, birth control pills are not 100 percent, people who use birth control pills and condoms every once and a while still get pregnant.
But yes if you missed the pill, when you start back you have less effect for a full month. So yes it can be possible |

If you had sex on August 4th taking a pregnancy test today should be very accurate.
The best to take the test in the morning, using your first urine of the day. This urine is less diluted so the HCG levels (If there are any, it's what pregnancy tests look for) will be more concentrated. If you have to take a test during the day, try to limit your intake of liquids for a few hours beforehand to minimize the possibility that your urine will be diluted. The pregnancy hormone HCG first appears 6-12 days after ovulation, with 84% of the pregnancies implanting on days 8-10 after ovulation. If you don't get a positive pregnancy test, it doesn't mean that you are not pregnant. It could be that you ovulated later than you thought or that your implantation took longer than the average. A test with the sensitivity of 20 mIU can pick up a pregnancy at 6-8 days past ovulation but the percentage of women who get a positive this early is relatively low. A much higher percent of women get a positive result at 9 or 10 days past ovulation. |

Still don't know what's going on. Am I pregnant?
So my boobs just started to hurt, my backache even more and my ovaries are starting to hurt!! For the last 3 days I've been so sick like I had to throw up but I didn't. My feet has been swollen for 2 days... ive taken 4 test and they all said negtive.. I'm a little be confused!! I don't know what to do? Could I be pregnant?

I think it's time to go to the doctor.
No one on this site can diagnose you, we simply don't have those kinds of powers. If you've taken 3 tests and they all say negative, then you might not be pregnant, but those tests aren't always accurate, in fact, some women never get a positive using an hpt. See your doctor, at the very least something is going on with you and you should be checked out. Also realize that no birth control is 100% effective, there are people on this site and that I know personally that have gotten pregnant using 3 different types of birth control. Bottom line, if you don't want a baby, don't have sex. Good luck. |

Now, as for testing, are you taking the tests using first morning urine? This is important because this is when the concentration of pregnancy hormone (hCG) is in the highest concentrations. If you have, and you are continuing to get negatives, it is time to visit your doctor. Although I am an RN in women's health, I cannot diagnose you over the internet. You most likely need to have a blood test done, and possibly an ultrasound to find out what is going on. There is no form of birth control that is 100% effective. When you don't take your pill like clockwork your chances of becoming pregnant increase. |
