Finding date on sewing machine and it's worth
I have a Singer sewing machine. It has 4 drawers 2 on each side, a foot operated iron base and the machine folds down into the top. The serial # is H632340. I was wondering where the date might be located and how much it could be worth.

    :) found it.

It was built in Elizabeth, New Jersey USA in 1906 (for anyone else wondering... here is a link to charts Date your machine)

As far as worth... sorry not much. Singer built these so well that many have survived in good condition. Typically less than $100

Thank you StaticFX. I was hoping it was worth more. I bought it a yard sale this morning for $15.00 and was wanting to resale it.

Nice find for the dating, StaticFX! Just for additional resources here, dating according to the serial number is also available from the Singer Sewing Machine Company site.

SINGER® SEWING CO. | Support: Serial Numbers

Also, for those who might need to know how to find the model number on a Singer Sewing Machine, that information is available via clicking on the following link.

I'm posting this information here so that this thread will be as complete as possible for information. Ask Me Help Desk gets excellent exposure when people do searches for things on the Internet. This thread here will no doubt be showing up when people are doing searches for this information about Singer Sewing Machine model numbers and serial numbers.

Yes, typically, they don't sell for very much. But, how yours is advertised can make a great difference in who you might attract to purchase it. Depending on the condition, it might be possible to get some good money through a sale of it.

zaine1976, is the machine that you have functional in all ways, please? Also, what is the condition of the case as far as there being any damage to the wood or to the finish?

    Thanks!

Where the person lifted the top to open it, it has pulled the veneer up and they put tacks in it to hold it down. This is not recent I would say it was done along time ago. There is also 2 other places where the veneer has come up. Doesn't look to bad. It has an extra thread holder and several other attachments for sewing. One drawer is missing a knob. The machine itself could use some cleaning but I'm not going to. It also has worn out places on the machine. I'm not sure if this is where it was handled when she was sewing or not. I guess it's where it was pulled up to be used. It needs a belt but I'm quite sure it all works. All the mechanisms work when you work the foot pedal. You can see the tacks in the second picture lower right. Same picture the veneer is gone(recent) on the left

It is identical to mine and mine is 1906

You might get $20. But I doubt much more than that.

Thanks for providing more information as well as the extra images!

Because of the damage that has greatly affected the appearance of it, I agree with NOhelp4u.
