    IE 6.0, Removing AutoComplete Feature, Rev 1
    I have IE 6.0 and want to remove the AutoComplete feature as it keeps popping up with addresses that I don't want. I've cleared the history folder, cleared temporary files, cleared cookies and gone to Tools, Internet Options, Content, Autocomplete and removed all check marks from the fields. I've rebooted and still I get Autocomplete of the same addresses as before. Any ideas on how to stop/delete AutoComplete feature in this condition? It's as if the addresses are stored somewhere other than temporary folders and keep appearing.

    Thanks for any ideas!

    Did you try what was posted in the post you made about this yesterday?

    As I mentioned in the new question, Yes, I have tried goint to Tools, going to Internet Options, going to Content, and going to Autocomplete and unchecking all fields. This did not work. I'm looking for other solutions. Any ideas?

    Try to do this in order to see if there is a difference

    1st - make sure all the checkmarks are out of Content, and going to Autocomplete and unchecking all fields.

    Then and after those are all unchecked (which I'm sure they are) then remove and clear all your history, cookies, temp files and browsing history and clear forms too

    Hopefully this will do it

    Also

    The AutoComplete feature can be enabled / disabled by modifying a preference in Internet Explorer. Here's how to change the setting with IE6:

    Load Internet Explorer

    Click Tools -> Internet Options

    Click the Content Tab

    Click the AutoComplete Button

    "Ensure that "User names and passwords on forms" and "prompt me to save passwords" both have a check-mark "

    Am not aware of anything buty above 2

    Thanks for the advice. I tried what you wrote AND went to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and unchecked the "Open AutoComplete" box. I rebooted the computer and it worked. Thanks again.
