I married my husband on September 29, 2004. Immediately after we got married he was arrested and sent to INS detention. I paid the lawyer to get him out and also posted a 5,000 bond. Over the term of our marriage he has slowly become verbally and physically abusive. Twice he has physically grabbed hold of me and the last time, in February, he nearly broke my finger and the hospital I went to called the police. He was arrested and like an idiot I went to the hearing and asked for him to be released on a pr bond. He stayed with me until June and then left one day while I was gone. When I finally got to talk to him he told me he would never have stayed with me as long as he did except that he didn't have his green card yet. Once he got it he left. He told me that he had never loved me, just wanted to get a green card. Is there anything I can do at this point? I feel that he married me under false pretenses and that he should not be allowed to stay in this country under those conditions.

Maybe it's a bit too late. If he already becomes LPR, you can do nothing.
To be exact, I need more info where he stands, etc.

Expensive lesson you have... next time, if your spouse is in jail, leave him there.

I just found out today that he is definitely proceeding with a jury trial and his reasoning is that if he has a domestic violence on his record he will be deported. He has a green card, but is not a citizen. And the 5 year period isn't over yet.

The issue here is that 1/2 of all marriages end up in divorce anyway, and men who are abusers are abusers even if they are illegal or not.

So had he been a citizen born in Missouri, he is a abuser and his legal status did not make him that.

So perhaps he did marry you for that reason, but there is really no proof of it, I would get a divorce and move on with my life.

Well, I would love to except that I have to go to a jury trial in December so that a jury can determine if I am the abuser and not him. So it isn't like I can just move on.
