Every night
Lately I have been enjoying drinking, and getting very tipsy almost every night with my boyfriend. I like to drink scnapps and dark liquor most of the time. I am finding that I miss it if I don't do it for a day or two. I just wanted to know if this is a problem or is it pretty normal? I'm pretty much a social drinker as I rarely do it by myself, but I do like to do it with my friend almost daily. I just want to ask an outside opinion else to check myself to make sure I am not going down a bad path. Thanks!:)

Sounds as though you may be developing an addiction seeing that you "miss" it if you don't drink for a day or two.

If you're drinking to the point where you have to ask yourself if you're drinking too much, then you're probably drinking too much. I'd try to cut back and see if I had a hard time doing so. If I found that I couldn't stop even though I told myself I would, I would attend some AA meetings to get more info.

It does sound as though you may be developing an addiction... like J_9 said, if you "miss" it, that's usually a red flag...
Here is a little self quiz I used when I decided to stop drinking: Alcoholics Anonymous : Is A.A. For You?
Best of luck to you, whatever you decide!

It certainly can be a fine line.
I love a glass of wine or two most nights, especially when I am cooking. Especially in the summer. I don't need it to sleep. I don't scurry off to the store if we are out. I've gone months without drinking. I've had a glass or two every night for days sometimes.
Would I miss drinking a nice glass of wine if we stopped completely? Sure.
Having had two alcoholics in the family, I don't take the slide downhill lightly.
You posted here. You know something isn't quite right. Are you drinking out of boredom? Nothing else to do? Getting any exercise?
You at least need to keep yourself in check here.
Like I said, I tend to find I drink more in cycles... in summer we have lots of parties. Do a lot of outdoor grilling. There's a bottle open most nights. Sometimes used. Sometimes not.
Just my experience.

Take it from someone who really knows, you're heading down a bad path. Maybe you feel that you just drink now cause you "really enjoy it", but you also said that you miss it if you go a day or two without drinking and that is a definite telltale sign of alcoholism. Get a grip on it before it's to late!

Good for you for posting about this. I think you have your answers here, but I also think it's great that you care enough about yourself to think this through. Sounds like you should cut back.

Help,
I just bought a home in July 2006, the home is built 1976. It has a 3 ton Say and night unit, I had it serviced in September for the cold weather. The Tech found a 2" X 8" crack in the heat exchange. I have home warranty but they refuse to fix it. HSA would not recommend them to anyone. I...
