Okay, so the story is, that I saw this girl for about 3-4 months before we broke up due to a completely stupid reason (one of my friends died on her birthday and I didn't turn up because of it). She didn't want to see me anymore and I was a little upset but not to bothered, I mean we we're still friends until I discovered that she was a complete slut, when I found out I was heartbroken, guys know they don't want to hear about past relationships of your ex's especially when I found out what she did. Anyway I decided then that I wasn't going to talk to her again, like completely dismissed her from my life. So, everything's going dandy for the next few weeks I'm still hurt but I'm getting over it eventually, until one of her friends tell me that she fancies one of my two best friends. I might be sounding selfish when I say this but I cannot think of any reason why she say that, because they don't know each other, I think they've only ever spoken a couple of times in the span of a year. She's going away to university in September and the only reason I could think of her doing this is just to spite me.

I may still like her but I definitely don't want to get back with her. I just don't know what to do and I want to stop anything before she ruins my friendship for me.

If your friend goes for it then he is not your friend. Plain and simple. Stay cordial with him but know that you aren't as close as you thought you were. Her intentions are irrelevant.

She sounds more than a bit selfish if the start of the end for you guys was a friend's death prevented you from celebrating her bd with her the way she wanted. And if that's how selfish she is, if your friend doesn't value your friendship enough to stay away from her, he will be getting what he deserves latching onto her anyway.
