Toilt flange to far away from wall
I am renovating an old bathroom. I replaced the old toilet and after install the toilet is about 4" away from wall. Are the drains at the bottom of toilets different dimmentions or are they all just pretty standard? The flange off the wall is 14" to center

    Hi Cm...

Toilets come in 10" rough in, 12" rough in (standard) and 14" rough in. Of course, 10" and 14" roughs cost more and usually need to be special ordered from home depot or Lowe's (a plumbing supply house will carry these in house, but will probably charge extra because you are not in the trades)

Best bet here will be to purchase a toilet that roughs in at 14"... should be a good fit as long as you measured from the finished wall to the center of the toilet bolts (as you suggested you did quite clearly... ;) ).

Kohler, American Standard and Toto make great toilets in 14" rough.

Let me know if need more information...

After laying tile in a bathroom, we tried to remove two flange bolts from a cast iron flange, but the both broke off flush with the flange. They were too short to begin with, but now we can't even get them out. It's as if they're rusted in. What can we do?
