    Windows will not start!
I don't know what happened, but, I turned my compter on and all I'm getting is this message.

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt : \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I can't start in safe mode or anything. So I borrowed a friends XP disc and booted from it. I get to a page when doing set-up and it tells me to push F-8 to agree to user agreement. Nothing happens with F-8. I can move the page up and down as well as exit and re-start, but no F-8.
So, I went to repair and recovery mode, and I typed "1" and I was going to run a scandisk, but it asks me for a administrator password... I didn't install XP originally, so I have no idea what it is... Anyone have any ideas for me to get up and running? Thanks everyone...

My old neighbor from about 4 years ago in a different city... I can try and get a hold of him... If he would remember the password at all.

Most likely it's a illegal bootleg copy. You need to get yourself a legal copy.
