    Auntie's Rights over a niece
I fell out with my brother and his girl friend over a silly mis understanding & now they are refusing to let me see my niece. The argument was nothing to do with my niece it was a communication problem between myself & my brother.
All I want to do is to be able to take her out still & baby sit as I normally do. I adore my niece & she loves me. I'm heart broken. Do I have any rights at all as an auntie?

I don't think that any state allows "Aunt Rights" but I could be wrong.

Why would you even think about a court fight? That would really make things worse. Maybe you could talk to your brother and explain that he is hurting his child?

Legally no. Even if you did have rights it would mean going to court to enforce them. And I doubt if that would help matters.

Can you get a third party (your parents maybe) to help mediate?

As already pointed out you have no legal rights. You just have to be able to make up with your brother in order to see your niece again.
