    Hunter 42999B
    I am trying to replace a JANITROL HPT18-60 thermostat to a Hunter 42999B. The Janitrol has 7 wires and are not labeled, and the Hunter has 5. Which wires would I need to eliminate for it to work correctly. The Janitrol has a yellow, green, red, orange, white, black, and brown.

    Eliminate ZERO wires,unless you want the heat pump to NOT work,you have the wrong tstat I think. Also you have the wrong brand,hunter is junk,tomorrow,next week or a little later you will be replacing the hunter tstat,, trade it for a good honeywell heatpump stat
