    What are the pros and cons of converting a propane furnace to electric furnace?

    Install a coil on top the furnace and heatpump condenser outside.as if you are installing a basic airconditioner. Have the thermostat 2 stage so that the heatpump runs on the most cool days and on extrem temps the 2nd stage would kick in calling on the propane furnace.this is what we call a duel set up.

    First off you cannot convert a propane furnace to a electric furnace but you can replace the propane furnace with an electric one. If you do replace with an electric furnace I recommend that you also install a heat pump to really help save on the electric bill.

    No conversion kits available.
